PLAN YOUR BEACH WEDDING

Know the Kauaʻi Beach Wedding Permit Rules

Kauaʻi’s beaches provide an unforgettable setting for a destination wedding, but couples must follow Hawaiʻi’s beach permit requirements. A Right-of-Entry permit is required for weddings held on Hawaiʻi beaches, and additional rules apply to timing, insurance, alcohol, decorations, equipment, and public access. Your Kauaʻi wedding professional can help you understand the requirements and ensure your celebration is planned in accordance with state regulations.

Before Your Wedding:

Please call to make and appointment with one of the licensing agents on Kauai. This is where you will need to go to obtain your marriage license application before the wedding ceremony. Alternatively, ask your Kauai wedding coordinator to make the appointment for you. It is important that you arrive on-time for your license appointment. The state of Hawaii does not require any witnesses to sign the marriage certificate.
